North Yorkshire Police recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of its founding.

In those forty years, it failed to deal with the paedophile gang then centred around Jimmy Savile and Peter Jaconelli. This gang continues to be active in North Yorkshire. It is known to include senior police officers.

In those forty years, it allowed a registered bankrupt, Jane Kenyon, to hold senior positions in the authorities and failed to arrest her for the many serious criminal offences she committed.

In those forty years, it allowed Jane Kenyon to abuse her office as chair of North Yorkshire Police Authority to make unlawful payments from the public purse to senior police officers.

In those forty years, chief officers have been actively involved in defrauding isolated, vulnerable old people, a number of whom have died in mysterious circumstances, which have never been investigated.

In those forty years, Julia Mulligan, the current Police & Crime Commissioner, has evaded calls in Parliament for a “careful investigation” into “that dubious constabulary”.

Yesterday, on TV, HM Inspector of Constabulary Tom Winsor assured the public that the police would clean up their act. When I got up off the floor after having fallen off my chair laughing, I penned him a little e-mail (below).

In the unlikely event I get an answer, I will post it here.

Anyway, here is the e-mail:

Subject: “Police damaged but not broken”, says HMIC report

Dear Mr Winsor,

I am writing to you in your role as HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary.

In a recent news report, you are quoted as saying,

“The police service… [will be] ruthless and uncompromising in finding corrupt police officers and throwing them out” (see: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-26820020)

May I remind you of a case I drew to your attention years ago, that of my elderly mother, Barbara Hofschröer?

She was unlawfully evicted from her home in York in 2010 by a criminal gang, which includes senior officers of North Yorkshire Police. This criminal gang has made several attempts to fraudulently sell her house. They have threatened to kill her if she returns. She has been on the run ever since to evade Interpol arrest requests and has now gone into hiding in a European country, where she has been given the official status of a “persecuted person”.

My mother is 85 years old and wheelchair-bound. A foreign government is now protecting her from North Yorkshire Police.

(see: https://vimeo.com/84524221. Our interview starts at 12:10, but is then delayed for technical reasons to 28:37).

Lord Maginnis of Drumglass has kindly raised her case in Parliament on several occasions. Two years ago now, he described North Yorkshire Police as being,

“that particularly dubious constabulary [which] merits careful investigation”

(See: http://www.epolitix.com/latestnews/article-detail/newsarticle/proper-delegation-please-not-abdication/)

In the ensuing two years, successive chief constables, every chief officer, the former chair of the Police Authority and the current Police & Crime Commissioner have all ignored calls for this “careful investigation” to go ahead.

As their actions, or lack of them, conflict with your statement that,

“The police service… [will be] ruthless and uncompromising in finding corrupt police officers and throwing them out”

May I ask how you intend to see to it that North Yorkshire Police comply with your wishes?

I do hope on this occasion you will read my e-mail and reply to it, and not delete it “not read”.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
Peter Hofschröer

Did we get an answer here? – I know, silly question.
