BBC COMMENT ON GRANDMA B’S BLOG – 2nd Update

Earlier today, Andy Peacher posted a notice about tomorrow’s demo on the BBC Radio York website.

It was not news that the BBC wanted to hear about, being about state-organised child abuse and the like, so it was taken down rapidly.

BBC “journalist” Matt Foster explained why:

“I’ve had to remove your post from our Facebook page for two reasons:

1) It’s unrelated to the topic in question and therefore is spam;

2) The allegations you make are unsubstantiated (we’ve seen no evidence to prove them) and are potentially libelous.

We don’t take these kind of decisions lightly, but we’re not in the business of circulating stories that we haven’t checked out.”

The Grandma B case is regarded as one of the best documented cases of elder abuse. As Lord Maginnis pointed out in Parliament,

“The Minister knows it well and over the past three years the Home Office has received hundreds – yes, hundreds – of communications through me about the matter. Successive Secretaries of State have been so concerned that none would meet me, despite the fact that Interpol was activated to pursue this elderly lady all the way to her son’s home in Austria.  Does anyone in authority care that social services and police in North Yorkshire have conspired in the persecution of Mrs Hofschroer and her son? Are details of dismissals, forced retirements and other shady and costly measures pertaining to North Yorkshire Police available to legislators in Parliament? “

So the “hundreds of communications” are, as far as the BBC is concerned, “no evidence”, the large amount of documentation and correspondence on this blog and do not substantiate the allegations (!!!). I see.

In that vein, we contacted Matt Foster suggesting,

“How about checking out this story before you dismiss it?

See: https://grandmabarbara.wordpress.com/

His response was,

“I have read your piece online. I read it days ago when it first came to my attention.

“I googled the names attached to it. As I said, I don’t ‘dismiss’ things lightly.

“The piece you have linked to makes wide-ranging allegations. But it offers no evidence or explanation. It makes no sense.

“It is full of emotive language which sounds very dramatic, but the rhetoric tells me nothing of the truth or the real story behind it – it does your credibility no good.

“There is nothing you have sent me that I can broadcast – on journalistic or legal grounds. I have over twenty years experience as a journalist – both nationally and locally.

“I did you the service of responding to you and giving you a detailed explanation – based on journalistic principles and law.

We replied,

“Sadly, you seem to have missed vital facts in this case. Try reading some of what Lord Maginnis said about it in Parliament:

“The Hofschroer case has been on my desk for several years now. A widow in her 80s was dispossessed of her home in a way that implies collusion between certain family members and the Social Services. A son who has come to the rescue has been harried by the North Yorkshire police (that particularly dubious constabulary merits careful investigation) to the extent that he and his aged mother have been pursued through an Interpol warrant to their “refuge” in Austria.

“I suppose this is not evidence and is full of emotive language.

“Frankly, the last thing I would expect from a BBC journalist would be to publish well-supported facts pointing out corruption in the Establishment.

“If you were to start that, you wouldn’t get any further than the child rapists in the BBC itself.

“Oh, and a barrister advising us tells us we have enough evidence to successfully prosecute those we are accusing. But don’t let the facts confuse you when you have made up your mind already.

“And I will be publishing your e-mail below to show what a waste of space BBC journalists are!”

Matt Foster’s comments on this case make it very clear that the money the BBC extort from the public as a “TV licence fee” is squandered.

With “journalists” like him, is it any wonder a child abuse ring was able to operate in the BBC so long without anything being said about it?

****** UPDATE  7 November 2014 ******

Surprise, surprise, we did not get a reply.

Having been accused in public of at the very least of professional incompetence, if not dishonesty, one would have expected a sternly worded rebuttal. Instead, we got the customary silence. Dear Matt is not disputing the allegations made against him.

So he has been a journalist at the BBC for 20 years. In all that time, did he not notice that the BBC was run by a gang of child rapists? If he didn’t, then that makes him a lousy journalist. If he did notice and said nothing, then that makes him a lousy journalist.

Either way, he is a lousy journalist. Well, working for the BBC, he has to be, doesn’t he? 🙂

****** 2nd Update – 7 November 2014 ******

Just hours after renowned BBC journalist Matt Foster, who has 20 years experience in his respected profession, stated that he would not run the Grandma B story, as the allegations made are “unsubstantiated”, York Magistrates’ Court, after having considered the evidence, issued summonses against a number of her abusers (see: https://grandmabarbara.wordpress.com/%EF%BB%BF-breaking-news-police-threaten-to-arrest-grandma-bs-supporters/)

A number of commentators have described Dear Matt as a WANKER.

Would he agree with that or does he think that term too emotive?
